Morning Poem

On a walking whim through the crumb-y kitchen I took the globe near the bathroom for a spin with my pointer finger of touching & probing curiosity, that appendage, along with my eyes, is a glorious gift of life, so I take it all in, breathing betwixt instant coffee instances & gravitational push & pull dichotomies of paradigm enormities. Oh how I've come into some auspicious electric currents & occurrences where I see the sun making its presence known through fiery curtains of clouds, painted with ember red & orange & a soaked blue from crisp morning skies. By the light of the moon, I spent last night taking the form & curvature of a nestling spoon with a corresponding lithe & lovely angel to snuggle up with through the swirling of autumnal dreams. What luck I've come across to even be near such a sleeping beauty, considering I'm just a chimpanzee swinging from tree to tree. Tee-hee. She preps for her day in the early dark of her apartment, but with just one glance she gives to the unfolding morning she certainly brightens up the day. & that's what I call rise & shine, the epitome. As the coffee drips in the corner nook of the kitchen I make toast. Toast appetit. Bon appetit. A bona fide beautiful morning spent with my babycakes. We went our separate ways with a kiss, she to work & me to waltz home for an infinite possibility day. & I wish her well for a nice day at work, only to see one another again in the near near future. God, I love my baby with every ounce of my pounding, thumping, swelling heart.

& here's an awesome painting my father put together. i think my mother painted the little cabin to the right of the river. much props to mom & pops.

i brush by a sugar momma this morning whose wearing a rose-colored sweater. she has a hairbrush in her hand & i imagine her singing Motown hits into it like a real diva. i'm looking for chocolate sweets in the grocery to give her as a gift that symbolizes how she is candy for my eyes. candy for my eyes. she lives at the end of town. i hear from a friend that she's an artist. i'm intrigued. so i go to her front lawn with my mariachi compandres & i serenade her as she stands on her balcony stargazing. she lets down her lengthy tress of hair & i climb up it for to kiss her & give her chocolates in a dainty box wrapped in ribbon. heartbeats & sugar rushes & shooting stars & duets sang into hairbrushes.

WW3 popped into my dreams. missiles sinister missiles were sailing over American soils. we were told by the media & firefighters that the missiles were actually asteroids burning up in our atmosphere. to the say the least, it was eerie & scary. the night before i dreamt of nuclear fallout, where the plume of an a-bomb turned into a UFO that had flashing lights that displayed advertisements for various unknown products & events. don't ask me. i witnessed this all from the top floor of a very tall abandoned building, where i was peeking out from under a scratchy wool blanket. oh, that i could sleep in heavenly peace tonight. sleep in heavenly peace.

There the soul swirls & shines to infinitesimal depths of divisions of 2 being punched into an ancient calculator that runs on Newton's INERTIA. Blueprints & graphs on Destiny's desk. Classical music rises out of the bricks of the red brick apartment, in kinetic collages. One ear to the East & the other poised to the West, where the dead rest, snoring comfortably. & the search continues for a MUSE that lives & breathes the best qualities. Pienso en ti. Pienso en ti.

Still finding my voice, as if it were somewhere rambling at depths unknown to human scientific, prying eyes & ears, & this golden voice just so happens to be occupying the same space as my reeling mind. Think concrete & think of your origins in the cosmos, this is the part where your train of thought disintegrates on the Big City horizon, with the bridge off down in the lowlands, these modern structures, the proof of Human Kind's stacking madness. At a desk in the tallest skyscraper in the Universe, Gutenberg whimpers into a waste basket filled with crumpled up pieces of paper, the words inked on the pages too obscene for the general public's wild imaginations. Ramblin' down the middle of backroads all torn up, packed-dirt & rocks, apocalyptic looking. No fear in me though. this is a mean ol' world. try livin' in it by yourself, babe. gonna pack my things & go the way of the rolling stone. Papa, too, was a rolling stone. imbibing coffee to uplift my spirits. desiring to sing of things uplifting, as if angel wings were the means by which i went to and fro in this little ol' town. run away from superstitious lookin' alleycats 'neath the flickering neon signs. cat calls & joy found in singing your heart out, that's what is burning & churning in your veins. No I won't chase no dragons, for i know there's a steep cliff where he sleeps, plus i understand that it is there in the imaginary realm where you lose your mind among the rest of the tragic geniuses counting & recounting illogical number meanings in sequences. it is there that you place the plastic disc in the machine tray & enter the twilight zone within 4 or 5 other squished, rocky carousel twilight zones. Well, you care for the world. The world seems to not care for you. Who's the better storyteller? You or him? My money is on you. The blues is when you got no money & you got no food in the cupboard & you're hungry as a stranded wolf. That's the blues. You go into your adolescence aloof. A woman rocks your world & then the next thing you know, she leaves you for another man. That's the blues.

a tidbit: in 1977 they launched what is called the Voyager Golden Record out into space. The record, seen here, contained sounds & images of remnants of Earth culture. It left our solar system entirely in the year 2008. Imagine that. Here is a potent song that is on the record, by a one Blind Willie Johnson.

Things that happened in his mind.
What he wanted to do in life,
